AILET

Q1.  What is Eligibility Criteria of AILET?

Ans. Please see the following Details :

  1. The candidate shall secure minimum of 40% (30% for SC and ST candidates) of the total marks in the AILET to become eligible for the admission. The University reserves the right to keep the seats vacant if there are no candidates who secured minimum cut off marks.
  2. If two or more candidates secure the same percentage of marks in the AILET, their merit will be determined in the following manner and order; (1) On the basis of Percentage of marks in the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) / Higher Secondary School or its equivalent recognized by the University (2) On the basis of Percentage of marks in the X standard (3) Elder in age will be preferred (4) Draw of Lots.
  3. At least 30% of the total seats shall be filled by eligible horizontal reservation for women candidates including those selected in reserved and foreign national categories.

Q2. What is the Reservation Policy in AILET?

Ans. The selection shall be strictly on the basis of merit as determined by the Entrance Test subject to reservation of 15% (11 seats) for Scheduled Caste candidates, 7.5% (5 seats) for Scheduled Tribe candidates, 5% (4 seats) for Persons with Disability, additional one seat for Kashmiri Migrants and two seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir out of the 70 seats to be filled through Entrance Examination.

Q3. How many marks will be awarded for right answers?

Ans. One mark each will be awarded for each right answer. No marks will be deducted for any wrong answers. Questions marked with multiple responses will be awarded wrong.

Q4. What is the Application Fee of AILET?

Ans. Candidates can pay the application fee through online mode. The application fee is Rs. 3050/- (for general candidates) and Rs.1050/- (for SC/ST and Persons with Disability candidates). BPL candidates of SC/ST category are exempted from the application fee.

Q 5. What is the exam format of AILET?

Answer :

  • Mode of examination: Offline
  • Maximum Marks -150
  • Duration of the examination: 2 hours or 120 minutes
  • Types of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs)

 Each question is of 1 mark with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.

Q 6. AILET is the most difficult Law Entrance Exam in India?

Answer : Answer to this question is very subjective. You might have heard of such things but as far as cut offs are concerned, AILET looks much easier than CLAT.  AILET 2017 cut-off was 90 & AILET 2018 cut-off was 72.5
